Ever wonder what goes into creating an aesthetic bookshelf? If so, here in this post is tips and ways that I personally figured out my niche and style to make a unique and creative bookshelf.

So first thing is first, what do you want your shelf to say about you? As seen above my shelf is very unique. It has some special editions, a couple wax melts, a photograph and a candle holder.

Now the way you set your shelves up is completely up to you. I reorganize my shelf about once or twice a month. You can choose to leave them upright or lay them down. I defintely don’t recommend to search up whether its safe for them to be laying flat because I got mixed articles. So take it from me, just do what you want with them. Thats all it matters to anyways is to yourself.

Sometimes when creating your bookshelves you can decorate it with mostly anything. As above in my picture I have character art that I have purchased from the authors websites. I have candles from small businesses. I have special editions from Instagram companies that team up with the authors both in the U.S. and International. Its always good to put some of your own decor so the crown and little princess figure is from my own house.

Another thing that anyone can add is legos. Legos are a really popular thing to add on bookshelves. It can bring out so much about the books. On my shelf, on the top left is two F1 race cars to match the series it’s sitting on. That is another thing you don’t always have to match your decor to your books but it is incredibly fun to do

On my journey to creating my bookshelf it was difficult. I wanted to fit in with others or create what they had. I wanted to have the prettiest books and decor possible. But after awhile you think to yourself ‘Why am I comparing my style to someone on the internet?” It made me open up my eyes to realize that sure I can use them as my inspiration but I need to create a style and name for myself.
